Ripple Glass Flush Ceiling Light with Scalloped Rim

A shallow dome of ripple-textured glass held against a round metal plate, with a small finial at the centre. The glass is heavily fluted and slightly frosted, so the light comes through as a soft, even wash rather than a hard beam, and a little of it spills up onto the ceiling around the rim. It sits tight to the ceiling with no drop at all, which suits rooms with low or standard ceiling heights. Four diameters are offered, from 20 cm (7.9") up to 50 cm (19.7"), so it can work as a small landing light or as the main light over a bed.

• Sized for the room: Rated by the maker for spaces of roughly 5 to 10 square metres per fitting; pick the diameter to suit the room rather than the ceiling rose.
