Linear Oval LED Outdoor Wall Light

A single slim bar with rounded ends, finished in black, with an acrylic diffuser running the full length of both sides. The LED is an SMD board built into the fitting rather than a bulb you screw in, and it throws a soft band of light up and down the wall instead of a pool at floor level. It is rated IP65 and hardwires into the mains, so it can go on an exterior wall or an interior one. Nine lengths run from 40 cm (15.7") to 220 cm (86.6"), all 9 cm (3.5") wide.

• Light up and down the wall: The diffuser edges glow along both long sides, so the light washes the wall above and below the bar. It grazes texture on render, brick or timber cladding rather than glaring at eye level.
• IP65 rated: The source gives the fitting an IP65 rating and lists it for indoor or outdoor use, which is why it appears on garden walls and in hallways alike.
• Steady or motion sensor: Two versions are offered: Steady, or Motion Sensor with a small sensor eye set into the face of the bar, visible as a dot in the photographs. Pick the sensor version for a side passage or a front door you approach in the dark.
• Built-in LED: An SMD LED board sits behind the acrylic; there is no lampholder and no bulb to fit. It hardwires to a fused supply on a flat wall plate.
• Scales to the wall: From a 40 cm (15.7") bar beside a mirror or bedhead to a 220 cm (86.6") strip running most of a storey, the same 9 cm (3.5") width keeps the profile slim at every length.
• Three colour change and dimming: The supplier lists a three-colour-change light and a dimmable version of this lamp. Both depend on the version supplied, so check the option you select rather than assuming.

Best used in pairs either side of a front door, a garage opening or a set of bifolds, mounted vertically so the light runs the height of the wall. Indoors the shorter lengths suit a hallway or a spot beside a fireplace or armchair.
