Fluted Alabaster Wall Light

A tall rectangular wall light cut from alabaster, with a fluted front that breaks the light into soft vertical bands. The stone glows rather than glares: light passes through the thinner ridges and pools where the veining runs, so you get a warm wash up and down the wall rather than a hard beam. It runs on an integrated LED behind the stone, and fixes to a hardwired wall plate with no switch on the fitting itself. Three heights are offered, from 30 cm (11.8") up to 60 cm (23.6"), so it can sit beside a mirror or run tall on a bare wall.

• Alabaster that lights from within: Each piece has its own veining and clouding, so the pattern of warm and shadowed bands is never quite the same twice.
• Light up and down the wall: The fluted face throws a soft vertical wash from the open top and bottom, useful for lifting a plain wall or flanking a mirror.

Best either side of a bedroom or hallway mirror, or as a pair flanking a fireplace or doorway where a lamp has nowhere to stand. The narrow 5 cm (2") projection means it can go in a corridor without catching shoulders.
