Coloured Glass Ceiling Pendant

A single globe of coloured glass hung on a black fabric-look cable, with a dimpled water ripple surface that breaks the light into soft patterns. One E27 bulb sits inside the open-bottomed shade, so the strongest light falls straight down onto the table or worktop below while the tinted glass throws a warmer wash sideways. The glass comes in Rose Red, Red, Dark Green, Amber, Orange, Green, Pink, Blue, Dark Blue and Grey, with the lampholder and ceiling plate in Black or Gold. It is a hardwired fitting, rated IP20 for indoor rooms.

• Rippled glass, patterned light: The dimpled surface bends the light as it passes through, so the glass reads as a pool of colour rather than a flat shade and casts gentle shadow patterns on the ceiling and walls.
• Takes a standard E27 bulb: A bulb is included, and when it eventually goes you can replace it with any standard E27 screw bulb from the supermarket. A clear filament bulb suits the ripple; an opal one softens the glare through open glass.
• Open base, directed light: The globe is open at the bottom, which sends most of the light downwards into a pool. That makes it useful over a dining table or an island where you want the surface lit rather than the whole room.
• Ten glass colours, two metal finishes: Pick a single tone for a run of matching pendants, or mix colours across a group as shown in the photographs. The metal top and ceiling plate come in Black or Gold.
• Hardwired to a ceiling point: It fixes to a ceiling rose on its cable and needs assembly on arrival. There is no plug and no switch on the flex, so it works from your existing wall switch.
• Warm light, not dimmable: The supplied bulb gives a warm white light. This fitting is not dimmable, so pair it with a fixed switch rather than a dimmer circuit.
